Patent Ceramic Core
(PATENT NO: 1690)
Our patent manufacturing process gives
increased panel stiffness and improved
impact resistance for the toughest, most
durable fibreglass composite pool in the world

Super Resistant...
Vinyl Ester Resin Construction

The use of vinyl ester resin has always been
paramount in the manufacture of our composite
pools. Vinyl ester resin may cost twice as much
as polyster resin, but it provides 50 times
more resistance to chemically treated water.

Evolution of the patented Compass Ceramic Composite Pool

Standard Fibreglass Pool

In the 1980's fiberglass pool manufacturers recognised the importance of using Epoxy-modified Vinyl Ester (EVE) resin in the corrosion barrier layer of their fiberglass pools.

However, individual pool manufacturers are free to decide how much EVE resin they use in their pools, as there are no quantities specified in the Australian Standards.

Evolution of the patented Compass Pool

In 1980 Compass Pools began building standard fibreglass pools in Australia, with a mission to build the best quality family pools possible.

Vinyl Ester Fact File

  • Two types of resin are typically used in the manufacture of fibreglass pools, standard polyester resin, and Epoxy modified Vinyl Ester (EVE) resin.
  • Independent testing has shown that EVE resins perform 50 times better in resisting hydrolysis by water, compared with polyester resins.
  • But EVE resins costs twice as much as standard polyester resins, which is why standard fibreglass pools contain mainly polyester resin.

In the 1990's Compass Pools continued the evolution of the fibreglass pool with its patented technology combining Ceramic microspheres with EVE resin, to improve strength, chemical resistance, and waterproofing protection.

Today, while others build standard fibreglass pools, Compass stands alone with its superior patented technology EVEC™ series pools. For 15 years, the Compass EVEC™ 300 series pool has been an industry leader for fibreglass composite pool construction around the world. And now, with the Compass EVEC™ 500 series pool, the evolution in protection and strength continues.
