World-First Patented Technology
Advanced Hydrostatic Protection: HydroPro™ Valve
The only fibreglass pool in the world backed by a lifetime warranty against hydrostatic damage. Our patented HydroPro™ valve releases ground water pressure 5× faster than standard industry valves, protecting your pool through extreme weather events that home insurance won't cover.
The Risk Every Pool Owner Should Know About
One of the lesser-known risks of owning any swimming pool, fibreglass or concrete, is hydrostatic damage. It happens when the water level in the ground rises higher than the water level in your pool.
When that occurs, your pool will naturally want to lift or float, just like a boat. As the groundwater subsides again, the pressure reduces unevenly, which can result in permanent bulges, cracks in the walls and floor, or structural movement. With the increasing regularity of extreme weather events and record rainfall across Australia, this risk is growing.
Critically, hydrostatic damage is nearly always excluded from home insurance policies and most manufacturers' warranties, leaving pool owners exposed to a potentially significant repair bill.
The HydroPro™ Valve, Our Answer to Hydrostatic Risk
With 10 years of proven market performance and installation in over 15,000 pools, the Compass HydroPro™ is a patented hydrostatic relief valve that sets a new standard for pool protection.
Ultra-Sensitive Trigger
The HydroPro™ valve is engineered to detect rising groundwater pressure far earlier than standard industry valves, giving your pool maximum protection before damage can occur.
5× the Flow Rate
Our patented valve releases groundwater pressure at five times the rate of the standard hydrostatic valve used in most fibreglass pools. A dramatic improvement in real-world protection.
Patented Technology
10 years of proven market performance and a patent protect this innovation. It's exclusively available with Compass in-ground pools. No other manufacturer offers anything comparable.
Lifetime Warranty Backed
The HydroPro™ valve is so effective that it enables Compass to offer a world-first lifetime warranty against hydrostatic damage, transferable to new owners for up to 25 years.
Why Standard Valves Aren't Enough
Every fibreglass pool is fitted with a basic hydrostatic relief valve as standard. There's a significant difference, however, in the performance of the industry-standard valve compared to the HydroPro™ valve.
A standard valve opens slowly and has limited flow capacity. In a significant hydrostatic event such as a major storm, flash flooding, or a period of prolonged heavy rainfall, the pressure can build faster than a standard valve can release it. The result can be catastrophic structural damage to the pool shell.
The HydroPro™ valve was engineered specifically to solve this problem, with a trigger sensitivity and flow rate that meets the demands of real extreme-weather events, not just average conditions.

What pool buyers should know before making a decision.
What is hydrostatic damage?
Hydrostatic damage occurs when the water level in the ground rises higher than the water level in your pool. When this happens, your pool will naturally want to lift or float, like a boat. As the groundwater subsides, the uneven reduction in pressure can result in permanent bulges, cracks in the walls and floor, or structural movement of the pool shell. It can affect both fibreglass and concrete pools.
Is hydrostatic damage covered by home insurance?
In almost all cases, no. Hydrostatic damage is a natural occurrence caused by rising groundwater. Most home and contents insurance policies, as well as most pool manufacturer warranties, specifically exclude this type of damage. This means pool owners are typically left to cover the repair cost themselves, which can be substantial.
What is the HydroPro™ valve?
The HydroPro™ valve is a patented hydrostatic relief valve developed exclusively by Compass Pools. It is installed in every Compass in-ground pool and releases rising groundwater pressure at five times the rate of the standard industry valve, giving your pool maximum protection during extreme weather events. It is exclusively available with Compass in-ground pools.
Does every Compass pool come with a HydroPro™ valve?
Yes. The HydroPro™ valve is standard in every Compass in-ground pool installation. It is not an optional upgrade or a premium tier feature. Every customer gets the same level of protection.
What does the hydrostatic warranty cover?
The HydroPro™ valve enables Compass to offer a lifetime warranty against damage to your pool shell caused by hydrostatic pressure. This is believed to be a world first in the pool industry. The warranty is transferable to subsequent owners for the balance of 25 years if you sell your home, meaning your pool continues to add value even when you move on.
Do standard fibreglass pools have any hydrostatic protection?
All in-ground pools are required by Australian standards to have a basic hydrostatic relief system. However, the standard industry valve has a much lower flow rate and less sensitive trigger than the HydroPro™ valve. In a significant groundwater event, the standard valve may not release pressure quickly enough to prevent damage. Compass's HydroPro™ valve was specifically developed to address this gap, and is the only valve on the market backed by a lifetime warranty.
