Multi-Site Pool Installations for Performance Recovery

ClientP3 Recovery
Project TypeMulti-Site Fibreglass Pool Installation
LocationsMultiple sites across Australia & USA
Pool Range2-person cold pods through to 5m hot and cold pools
Install TypeSelf-supporting & removable above-ground systems

Project Overview

Compass Pools partnered with P3 Recovery to deliver a series of pool installations purpose-built for recovery, performance, and therapeutic use across multiple sites.

The brief went beyond simply supplying a pool. P3 Wellness required solutions that could perform consistently under high-frequency use, integrate with specialist wellness systems, and present a clean, clinical aesthetic that matched their brand.

We have now installed numerous pools in P3 Wellness Centres across Australia and the USA — from 2-person cold pods through to 5m hot and cold pools. These solutions have been designed to be self-supporting and removable to allow for future developments.

The Challenge

Wellness environments place different demands on pool infrastructure than standard residential or leisure installations. Key challenges across the P3 sites included:

  • Supporting recovery and therapeutic use — requiring precise temperature control and water quality management, including chilling to at least 6 degrees for cold immersion pools
  • High-frequency use by athletes and clients, demanding durability above standard residential specification
  • Varying spatial constraints across different sites — no two locations were identical
  • Maintaining a consistent look and feel across all installations to reinforce the P3 Wellness brand
  • Managing condensation on chilled pools in enclosed wellness spaces — a critical safety and maintenance consideration

Our Solution

Compass Pools approached the P3 Recovery partnership as a programme rather than a series of individual projects — enabling consistent planning, procurement, and installation practices across all sites.

Purpose-suited pool selection. Models were chosen for their suitability to recovery applications — prioritising depth options, entry/exit ease, and surface hygienic properties.
Durability for commercial use. Fibreglass's non-porous surface is resistant to the chemical demands of high-turnover wellness environments.
Streamlined multi-site delivery. Standardising the installation approach across locations reduced complexity and improved consistency of outcome.
Self-supporting & removable design. Each pool was designed to be self-supporting and removable, giving P3 flexibility for future fitout changes or site developments.
Systems integration. Each installation was coordinated to support heating, filtration, and any additional wellness equipment specified per site.

The Result

The P3 Wellness installations now form the centrepiece of each facility's recovery offering — performing reliably under daily commercial demands while presenting immaculately.

✓ Consistent performance across all sites. Reliable water quality and temperature control meeting wellness-grade standards.
✓ Reduced maintenance overhead. The fibreglass surface minimises chemical use and simplifies cleaning routines.
✓ Brand-aligned presentation. A uniform, high-quality finish across every location reinforces the P3 Wellness standard.
✓ Scalable approach. The programme model demonstrated Compass Pools' ability to deliver quality at scale without compromising outcomes.

Key Takeaway

The P3 Recovery project shows that Compass Pools can operate as a trusted delivery partner across multi-site programmes — maintaining quality, consistency, and performance where the demands on the product are highest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from facility managers, operators, and project teams considering a Compass pool for wellness and recovery environments.

Can Compass pools handle high-frequency commercial use?

Yes. Compass pools are reinforced with a ceramic composite core, making them structurally stronger than standard fibreglass. The non-porous Bi-luminite surface resists the chemical demands of high-turnover environments — exactly what performance recovery facilities like P3 require. The pools are designed for daily commercial use without the degradation that affects other pool types over time.

Can the same pool model be installed consistently across multiple sites?

Yes — and this is a significant advantage of the Compass manufacturing approach. Because pools are produced in a factory-controlled environment, the same model can be specified and delivered across multiple locations with consistent quality and finish. This was central to the P3 Recovery programme, where a uniform aesthetic and performance standard needed to be maintained across all sites in Australia and the USA.

Are Compass pools suitable for cold immersion and recovery use?

Yes. Compass pools can be paired with commercial-grade chilling systems to achieve the temperatures required for ice bath and cold immersion therapy — including chilling to 6 degrees or below. The non-porous fibreglass surface is hygienic and easy to maintain in these conditions. Condensation management in enclosed spaces also needs to be considered during the design phase, and our team can advise on appropriate solutions.

Can pools be designed to be removable for future fitout changes?

In some cases, yes. Pools can be specified and installed as self-supporting, above-ground systems with future relocation in mind — as was done for the P3 installations to give the client flexibility for fitout changes. Whether a specific pool can practically be relocated depends on how it was installed, the surrounding fitout, and site access at both the original and target locations. It's best raised during the design phase so the install method can support it.

What pool models are suitable for recovery and wellness facilities?

Our compact pool range and plunge pool models are particularly well-suited to recovery environments — offering compact footprints, above-ground capability, and appropriate depth for immersion therapy. Model selection depends on your specific space, usage requirements, and whether heating, chilling, or hydrotherapy jets are needed. Our commercial team can advise on the right specification for your project.

How does fibreglass compare to concrete for commercial pool maintenance?

Fibreglass is generally easier to keep clean than concrete. The smooth, non-porous surface resists algae and bacteria build-up, which reduces day-to-day surface cleaning time. Note that water chemistry in commercial pools is regulated by state public-health authorities — required treatment and dosing levels apply regardless of pool surface, and the operator's water-treatment system is what manages compliance. For operators running daily sessions, the practical benefit of fibreglass is reduced staff time on physical pool upkeep over the lifetime of the facility.

Does Compass work with operators expanding across multiple locations?

Yes. Compass Pools has experience supporting multi-site rollout programmes, as demonstrated by the P3 Recovery partnership. Working as a programme rather than treating each site as a standalone project allows for consistent planning, procurement, and installation practices — reducing complexity and improving outcomes as the network grows.
