Popularity of Lap Pools

Lap pools are an increasingly popular swimming pool choice for individuals and families throughout Australia. The long, narrow shape of a lap pool makes it a beautiful design feature. It will update the appearance of your yard and increase the value of your home – and it’s also the ideal shape to create an infinity pool, enabling you to feel at one with your natural surroundings as you swim.

Lap pools have the optimal design for serious swimmers who need an unimpeded stretch of water in which to swim laps. They’re perfect for those who want to improve their times and techniques. And, with a graded depth, they also lend themselves to a variety of other fitness activities in the water.

Benefits of Lap Pools

Swimming laps is one of the best overall forms of exercise you can do. It improves your cardiovascular fitness and muscle strength due to the repeated act of pushing against the resistance of the water – but as it isn’t a weight bearing exercise, it’s also an ideal form of physical therapy for those recovering from injuries.

Swimming laps can also improve mental wellbeing. It reduces stress and can help you to relax as you get away from the distractions of modern life and enjoy the calming effects of the water.

In addition, a lap pool is the perfect environment for teaching your kids to swim. This is because it is narrower than a full-sized pool, making it easier for them to get from one side to the other. Many of Compass Pools’ lap pool designs incorporate a dedicated area for kids to rest, and all feature non-slip floors and steps for additional safety.

No Need to Clean Your Swimming Pool

Let the Compass Vantage pool clean itself. The Vantage in-floor cleaning and circulation system is an inconspicuous network of cleaning nozzles built into the pool floor and steps (optional). These nozzles take turns to pop up and push water across the pool floor, forcing the dirt, sand and leaves towards the fixed head and MDX main drain for automated removal.
