Popular Pools for Hotels & Resorts
Every property is different. Here are the pool models our hotel and resort clients choose most often.
Plunge 5
A great larger plunge for private courtyards, the Plunge 5 is a perfect option for family villas and premium suite experiences.
View Plunge Pools →Plunge 3.8
Give your guests the ability to cool down in their own private plunge pool for 2–4 people. A perfect way to enhance garden or beachfront suites.
View Plunge Pools →XT Spas
Available in two sizes (2.8m × 1.8m or 3.4m × 1.8m), offering a stunning heated addition to communal pool areas or private suites.
View XT Spas →Custom Contemporary
Shallow at both ends and deep in the middle. At 4.2m wide these pools can be installed up to 20m long — a great option for communal pools.
View Family Pools →Not Your Standard Fibreglass Pool
Not all fibreglass pools are created equal. Our ceramic composite core technology strengthens the entire structure of the pool, delivering superior durability, flexibility, and resistance to ground movement. This is critical in hotel and resort environments where the pool runs constantly and first impressions matter.
We've also pioneered above-ground and out-of-ground fibreglass pool systems, opening up opportunities that traditional fibreglass pools simply can't match. Whether you're looking for a private courtyard plunge pool for a premium suite, or a large custom-length pool for your resort's communal area, we have cost-effective solutions that actually work.

We Go Where Others Can't
One of the biggest advantages of a Compass pool is versatility. Our pools are installed across a wide range of hotel and resort environments — from ground-floor communal pools to private courtyard installations and rooftop features. Whether you're building at ground level or several storeys up, our systems are designed to adapt to your project requirements.
Proven Real-World Hotel Pool Project
An iconic Melbourne hotel install that's still performing 15+ years on.
The Pullman Melbourne on the Park
A failing concrete rooftop pool on the 7th floor opposite the MCG — leaking, cracking, and driving up energy and maintenance costs after only 12 years. The replacement had to fit within the existing footprint, maintain the floor level, avoid major structural works, and be delivered within a single Sunday-morning crane window.
A bespoke custom-jointed Maxi Rib fibreglass pool, joined off-site and lifted to the 7th floor as a single unit. The freestanding shell sits inside the original concrete structure with paving framed to match. An in-floor cleaning system returns water and heat through the floor to support energy efficiency.
Still performing 15+ years on, with no resurfacing required. The Bi-Luminite ceramic composite surface continues to present in excellent condition. A single Sunday lift, zero disruption to hotel operations.
We Understand the Challenges of Commercial Projects
When you work with Compass Pools, you're supported by a team that understands the realities of commercial builds, timelines, compliance requirements, and the importance of getting it right the first time.
We work alongside developers, architects, builders, and consultants to ensure the pool component integrates seamlessly into the wider project. Included in our broader team are specialist Engineers with vast pool experience and licenced Installation Supervisors.
From early-stage discussions through to delivery, our broad team of experts is here to provide guidance, technical insight, and practical solutions based on decades of experience.
We'll Put You in Touch With the Right People
Commercial pools require carefully considered water treatment and filtration systems to suit bather load and comply with public health regulations.
As the manufacturer of the pool structure, we don't design or supply these systems. We do however work alongside your project team and can introduce you to trusted consultants and equipment providers to ensure your pool operates exactly as it should.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions from hotel and resort operators considering a Compass pool solution.
Can Compass pools be used for both communal and private suite installations?
Yes. Our range covers both scenarios. Larger models like the Custom Contemporary (up to 20m) suit communal resort pools, while our Plunge 3.8, Plunge 5, and XT Spa models are ideal for private courtyard or suite installations. Many hotel projects combine both — a communal pool for shared use and smaller private pools for premium rooms.
How does a fibreglass pool hold up in a high-use hotel environment?
Very well. The non-porous Bi-luminite surface resists wear and doesn't require the resurfacing that concrete pools eventually need. Compass pools are also reinforced with a ceramic composite core, providing structural integrity under constant use — the Pullman Melbourne’s pool has been performing without resurfacing for 15+ years. Note that water chemistry in commercial pools is regulated by state public-health authorities and managed through the pool’s water-treatment system regardless of pool surface.
Can Compass pools be installed on rooftops or upper floors?
Yes — this is one of our distinctive capabilities. The Pullman Melbourne project is a real-world example: a fibreglass pool installed on the 7th floor opposite the MCG, replacing a failing concrete pool. Each rooftop project requires structural engineering review of the slab’s load capacity early in the design phase.
Can pools be installed in locations with restricted access?
Yes. Our lightweight fibreglass shells can be craned into position in spaces where traditional construction equipment can't reach. This makes them particularly suitable for courtyard installations, rooftop sites, and properties with limited vehicle or equipment access. Crane lifts can be scheduled around hotel operating windows to minimise disruption.
Can Compass replace an existing concrete pool without major structural works?
In many cases, yes. The Pullman’s freestanding fibreglass pool was installed inside the existing concrete shell with paving framed over the gap to maintain the original floor level — avoiding the cost and disruption of removing the original structure. Whether this approach is feasible on a specific site depends on the condition of the existing shell and structural engineering input.
What's the difference between in-ground and above-ground options?
In-ground pools are excavated and installed at ground level — the most common approach for communal resort pools. Above-ground installations require no excavation, making them faster to install and ideal for rooftop settings, indoor spaces, or sites where digging isn't feasible. Both use the same high-quality fibreglass shell and finish.
Do you offer heated spa options for resort guests?
Yes. Our XT Spa range is available in two sizes and is designed to integrate into communal areas or private suites as a heated wellness feature. Many resort clients pair these with a larger pool to create a more complete guest experience.
